We are preparing to procure a new contract for fire safety servicing and maintenance in communal areas, as our current contract ends on 31 March 2027. The new contract is expected to start on 1 April 2027 and will help us continue to provide important fire safety services for customers who contribute to these costs through their service charge.

As part of the legal consultation process, we are asking affected customers for their views before we move to the next stage. The services covered include communal fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, dry and wet risers, sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, smoke ventilation systems, firefighting lifts where applicable, reactive call-outs and compliance reporting.

After the consultation period ends, we will review any comments received, publish a public notice through the Government’s Find a Tender Service and carry out a tender process to select a contractor that offers the best overall service and value for money. Customers will be contacted again before the contract is awarded.

If you’d like to share feedback on the current fire safety servicing and maintenance service, please complete the survey on The Place, email customervoice@bpha.org.uk or call 0330 100 0272 and ask to speak to the Customer Engagement Team.
